Amanda Blake, born as Beverly Louise Neill, was a popular American actor. Best known for her role as Miss Kitty Russell from the TV series "Gunsmoke" however, she was also an incredibly popular American actress. In addition to this the show, she also appeared in television series such as "The Red Skelton Show", "Tattletales" and "The Edge of Night". In addition, Blake starred in several other films that included Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho,?Cattle Town,?Miss Robin Crusoe,?"About Mrs. Leslie",?The Adventures of Hajji Baba, High Society?? and???The Boost? What?. Blake, a former phone operator and animal lover, was passionate about animals. She and her partner Frank Gilbert and she were among the first to successfully breed Cheetahs. American actor, Sheila E. Gilbert was a co-founder of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Even as a board member of Humane Society of the United States, Blake has an extensive history. Blake was awarded numerous awards and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
