Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th of 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life through her vivid and broad imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she was able to read and write. The guitar that she first received was presented to her when she turned eighteen. She began singing in an Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. The same year she released her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. The singer established a name on the local circuit while in high school but she wanted to perform on a larger stage. In the exact day that she was able to graduate from high school, it was 1964. Her first charting hits with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers for his show that was syndicated in the years prior to this. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed to RCA Records. The show was cancelled by Wagoner, however, in 1974 due to her solo albums such as Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene exceeded the sales of their joint albums. Parton composed "I Will Always Love You" for Wagoner shortly after they separated. The song hit the top spot at No. It was the first time a song was able to reach No.
