Lucy-Liu

Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. She is an attractive, talented actress who has helped numerous Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. Following a string of early appearances in various popular television series her fame was boosted by joining the cast of the legal comedy series Ally McBeal where she played the sly Ling Woo. She translated her newfound fame into roles for the big screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels as well as other films. She then delivered an impressive performance in the role of Japanese criminal lord O'Ren Ishii in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. The actress also played the lead role in films that failed at the box office, such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Later, she was able to start voicing the characters of animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small screen roles was not able to achieve successes. Southland, a critically acclaimed series of police dramas that featured Liu in recurring roles, helped her find her own identity. Liu is very careful in selecting her roles in order that she does not become typecast within a highly competitive industry. While she's been embracing her cultural roots, she hasn't let it limit her as an artist.
